Hannah Warren to Present at Rotary Club Meeting

Club Hosts Rotary Global Grant Recipient

For Immediate Release July 18, 2014

(Green Bay, WI)   The Rotary Club of Green Bay today announced that Hannah Warren, a Rotary Global Grant recipient, will be the guest speaker on Monday, July 28, 2014, at the KI Conference Center at the Hyatt Hotel in Green Bay.  Hannah is the founder and Executive Director of Jhoole, a nonprofit that pioneers Humanitarian Enterprise through Indian handicrafts.

Hannah has a BA in South Asian Studies and Linguistics from the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies and is fluent in Hindi. At the age of 24, she was inspired to start Jhoole after photographing weavers wearing sarees they had woven themselves. She received a Rotary Global Grant to get her MA in Fashion Entrepreneurship from London College of Fashion; the majority of her degree was spent doing hands-on work in India with Jhoole and writing her dissertation on the new concept of Humanitarian Enterprise. She loves working for Jhoole and getting the opportunity to collaborate with all types of interesting people for the greater good.

Rotary Club of Green Bay President, Ian Griffiths, is excited to host a speaker who embodies the spirit of Rotary.  “Rotary is about service above self.  Hannah embodies this passion and shows how she is able to help others through a global grant.  Showing people how the foundation can really work is very powerful.  We are thrilled to have Hannah join us!”
